Worker's Party retained Hougang SMC and made a breakthrough in Singapore's political history by gunning down Aljunied GRC! Both Hougang SMC and Aljunied GRC were very good wins. The other losses also limited PAP to a mere 50 odd % win. Everyone can see that Singaporean had enough of the bullshits. Glad that I was able to witness such a politicial milestone achieved for my beloved Singapore during my lifetime :P

They shifted the stage nearly to the stand @___@ It's ok becoz we know why. But question is - why waste electricity when there was not much turnout? Thought government say muz save energy. Should juz switch off the floodlight lor. One good suggestion: Can apply for a permit to use the multi-purpose hall available at the void deck of our HDB blocks. Most economical and environment friendly too :P

I didn't manage to attend the Workers' Party GE rallies held yesterday and tonight. :( Nevertheless, my parents went to the 1st rally at Hougang Central yesterday. As told and also reported by the news, the turnout there was "overwhelming" compared to PAP's "miserables". I definitely won't wan to miss the 3rd rally tomolo due at Bedok Stadium. Together with my parents, I will bring along my baby daughter n wife to give the candidates our fullest supports!! ^_^

(17:40 to 28:10) Really like the speech given by one of WP's seniors during their 1st rally at Hougang Central. Direct, provocative & inspirational. This is what a true rally is about. The turnout - support tells a thousand words. The ruling party bounds to worry.

Laopo and I celebrated post Valentine Day last week at Marina Bay Sands. After having our buffet lunch, we took to the widely publicised MBS SkyPark at 57th floor. Sharp pressure inside my ears was my welcome gift when its lift swiftly passed the 30th storey mark.

On board the SkyPark, we could catch a clear bird eye view of the major landmarks, CBD as well as our Singapore waters anchored with lots of vessels. After spending about 45 minutes of sightseeing and self-adored photography, we bidded goodbye to MBS. We'll be back again with our family and Baby Tricia when the nearby infrastructures are ready in a year time :P

Northern Explorer Park Trip - Stop 6 & 7

Today in the late afternoon, we brought Baby Tricia to two stops along the Northern Explorer Park Connector - Admiralty Park and Woodlands Waterfront. Midway thru our journey, drizzles ascended upon us. We then took shelter at a nearby bus stop for 15 minutes before resuming our planned routes.

The Waterfront is the major draw for the visitors (mostly families) with newly-built facilities such as picnic area, event space, a jetty walk to the north, and a children playground cum exercise area to the east.

Okay, though we had a great time together with Baby Tricia, we learnt that we need to bring along more water, food and umbrealla the next time round. Okay, remember liao ^_^

Spent a day teaching at Innova Primary School today. Had a great time with the P1 kids. But it really requires tremendous energy and dedication. 不容易咯。。Kudos to all teachers out there!!

Just went online to check out the latest take-up rate for BTO projects. Was alarmed to see that more than 80% of Woodlands Dew 2-room units were not selected. Would it affect or delay or compromise the development of Woodlands Meadow?

Nothing better to do. Walked about 15 minutes from my home to the actual site. Still an empty piece of land. No sight of any construction in progress. Unlike the Champion Court and Treegrove @Woodlands, the progress of Woodlands Meadow is really worrying.

HDB BTO - Woodlands Meadow

We brought Baby Tricia to Orchard to view the christmas lightings in the evening till about 11pm. She refused to surrender to her sleep even though the time has passed beyond her sleeping time @_@ She likes the stars, the decorations, the kids bla bla bla...

Anyway, we had selected our BTO 5-rooms flat -> Woodlands Meadow last Thursday afternoon. With a queue no. of 0043, we managed to secure our 1st choice unit - a top floor 16th storey nearest to the nearby reserved site for school. The entire documentation took only about half an hour to be processed. Waiting time was about 15 min when we actually arrived 15 min earlier than our appointment time at 3.45pm.

The expected completion date for the project is 2nd Quarter 2014. Estimated delivery possession date is 31 May 2015. Still about 4 to 5 years away +_+ Gonna start saving up for renovation, furnishings, bla bla bla...

Actually planned to bring family to Marina Square yesterday. Becoz... HIGH 5 was in town!! However, due to some circumstances... I was there alone @_@ My fault, never plan properly again, I am lousy at giving surprises nowadays...

Watching the HIGH 5 members with their songs, dances and skids, entertaining the crowd which made up of majority children, I feel like a kid again.

I bought a remote controlled helicopter from Robinson at Raffles City. Still charging the device via USB. Will fly it around the house later :P

Went to join my ex-colleagues at The Cage at Kallang for soccer game in the evening. Old liao that why played for about half an hour no gas already. Then chitchatted with the guys and gals. Really enjoy meeting them. Somehow i miss ICA... +_+

Baby Tricia celebrated her 1st Birthday yesterday. Laopo did the planning this time and sourced many wonderful stuffs for Tricia - helium party balloons, colourful cupcakes, Pocoyo lolly biscuits and a lovely Winnie the Pooh themed birthday cake.

I managed to make a hurried video clip as a recap of Tricia's development over the past year. Pray that she will stay cheerful and healthy as always, and also grow bigger, rounder and chubbier. Heehee :)

Resort World Sentosa

We went to Resort World Sentosa yesterday. Laopo booked Festive Hotel with children-themed room. But we eventually decided to let Baby Tricia return home for a goodnight sleep :)

We managed to get our Universal Studio tickets changed to Fri instead as we only arrived at about 5pm after checking into our room. Universal Studio closed at 7pm. We certainly need more time to navigate thru the attractions within the park. As a result, we only shopped around in the evening before having our buffet dinner at Hard Rock Hotel. The blueberry yogurt was irresistable!!

This morning, we accompanied Baby Tricia for swimming. She still had some reservation of entering the pool aka some water phobia... @_@ Hence, it was time to go and have some fun at Universal Studio. There were many mascots roaming around for phototaking, except that the queues scared us off at times. I guess the number of tourists on Fri and weekends tends to be more.

Anyway, we managed to catch a 3D Shrek show. Baby Tricia luv it! We also queued up for a Madagascar animal ride and Jurassic Park flying dinosaur ride for Baby Tricia. She was certainly not afraid to try them all, except for some other rides which required a certain height for admission.

Soon, she fell asleep after having her milk. We decided to call it a day as Dad dropped by to fetch us home. Home Sweet Home! We would definitely drop by Universal Studio again when Baby Tricia grows older :D

Yesterday was tentatively my last day in Civil Service (with leaves included). Effective last day is 9 Sep 10. Nice and easy to remember. I first joined the public sector on 11 Mar 99. A service spanning nearly 10 years and 6 months. I value the relationships fostered and experience garnered. I saw thousand of faces, spoke to thousands of them, had understood more about people and be a little wiser, I guess so.

My family voiced their immediate disagreement (though I tried my very best to hide/delay the news). Frankly speaking, I shared their sentiments considering the fact - where could I find another job with a gross pay of nearly $5k a month? As a breadwinner of my family, a stable job in the government sector will be more assuring. I knew it was a difficult choice to make. Moreover, I have excellent work colleagues and supervisors, a challenging job and interesting Singaporeans to interact with every weekdays and occasionally Saturdays. However, I have to make a choice somewhere and somehow at sometime. If not, it's will be tougher to try out something new later. So, I made my decision.

Disembarked from my comfort zone, it is time to gear up and fire up for my next challenge. Though I may be a lone ranger at times, support from my family and friends will motivate me. And yes, Baby Tricia's laughter will brighten up my everydays :)

I took 2 days of vacation leave for Thur & Fri. Yesterday, Grandma dropped by to babysit Rui Min as mum went to MBS. Maid was busy with the housechores as usual while Grandma and I took turn to play, pacify and look after Rui Min. It was not an easy task as we need to focus our attention on Baby Tricia. She will place anything of interest to her and within her reach into her mouth (an early symptom of the growth of baby teeth). Can't wait to see her bunny teeth :D

31 May 2010 @5.21pm - Someone told me something which caused me to reflect on something. It has been a while since I last reflected on something for more than 30 mins. Argh. Dunno what am I toking about. But Life is really short and fragile, so before I suffer from any major heart attack, I gonna work hard to achieve my life goals. So as to achieve happiness, prosperity and progress for our family! Sound familiar? Aiya, i'm toking craps again. Running some Monday blue again maybe... @_@

Anyway, had late dinner at Ichiban CWP. Hmm, I somehow still prefer Sushi Tei lorz. That's still my No.1 favourite for now :)

Nah.. cannot lah, later if she dun have enough sleep, she would have fluffy eyes again =__= Maybe fetch them on their return bah. Anyway, gonna use the $140 Airport Vouchers that my airport ex-colleague had sent to me recently:) It was part of some quality incentive programme by CAAS lor which I was still eligible during my previous work stint at Airport. Btw, saw the news promoting this Airport $1 million cash lucky draw for shoppers. WOW, time to dream again :D yooohooo

Illuma - Esplanade Walkabout

We brought Baby Tricia to Illuma - a new mall opposite Bugis Junction. We had our late lunch at Chang Korean Grill & Noodle Restaurant. Ordered a bowl of Kimchi ramen, beef bulgogi (2 shares) & rice lunch set and a sweet potato - pumpkin side dish. The ambience was good. But add on the latest soundtrack by Baby Tricia... @_@ Oh oh.. haha.. It takes experience and great effort to pacify her. Pacifier was deemed as redundant in this situation.

We then drove to Esplanade to escape from the huge crowd at Bugis. There were people gathering around street artists performing gags. We found a spot and feed our Baby Tricia while enjoying the slight breeze. Thought of fetching mum home from MBS. But she was at RWS instead and took a taxi home herself.

Gonna try kite-flying next Fri - a public holday. Looking forward to it :)

A three-month-old-new born baby from Chongqing can sit alone, stand and walk with mere assistance, Xinhua news report today.

Doctors from the health department of Children's Hospital of Chongqing Medical University said it's rare that such a new-born baby could walk.

The little girl was born on January 31 this year, and within 101 days, she grew from 2.75 kilogram to 6 kilogram, 57 cm tall.

The girl's parents worry this might affect her physical development.

Chen Qian, a health doctor from Children's Hospital of Chongqing Medical University said there's no clear medical evidence suggesting this could happen and this may be caused by a pre-mature strong sport gene.

ICARE Soccer Tournament

Formed a soccer team with my colleagues to participate in a tournament organised by my organisation yesterday. It was held at HTA under the blazing hot sun. Results of our 4 games played - lost 0-1, drew 0-0, lost 0-1 and won 1-0. We emerged 4th out of the 5 teams in our group. We may be lacking in the areas of stamina, skills and team coordination due to the limited training and games we had together, but we certainly dun fall short of team spirit and determination :)

I suffered 3rd degree sun burn as a result... The uncomfort is there for me to endure for the next few days... @_@

HAINING, Zhejiang - Children of kiln workers at a brick/tile factory in the town of Dingqiao in Haining, some 125 km west of Shanghai, have been leashed to the workshop's windows with rope by their parents.

It is believed that the parents of these children do not have time to look after them while they are away at work.

They have resorted to these measures because they are afraid that their children will get into an accident if left unsupervised.

Time to renew my mobile phone contract. To be exact, the 2-year contract will expire on 18 July 2010. But one will be eligible for a phone upgrade once the contract reaches 21 months. I am a person who dun spend much time on my mobile phone. Hence, iPhone, HTC Legend, HD2 or Motorola Milestone will be considered 'heavily underutilized' if I get to own any of them. For me, a device which can make call, surf net, take some decent photo, record some above average video bundled with some useful organiser functions will suffice :)

After some research, I managed to shortlist two phones - Sony Ericsson Xperia X10 and Vivaz. Under a basic Starhub 3G Smartsurf 100 plan (at $38/mth), the former will cost $538 while the latter costs $248. A swopping $290 difference considering both phones boost comparative features, though i confess Xperia X10 looks more aesthetic. But the Vivaz's ability to record 720p videos makes it a great buy too.

Ok, shall toss a coin to decide.. soon :)

Soft Diet + Bubbles + Wig

We let Baby Tricia try her very first soft diet last weekend. It was a good start. She has no problem finishing a bowl in a few minutes. She has fallen in love with pumpkin :) Also bought another few other favours from NTUC Supermarket. Hope she likes them too :)

As promised, I had my hair cut today in the afternoon, courtesy from Laopo. Though the end result did not turn out as expected, but FOC lor so should have no further complaints. Haha. Laopo also bought some wigs for kids from online. Tried them out on Baby Tricia. Looks kinda weird. I still feelthat she looks more like a boy lor :D

Rui Min had a flu yesterday. Dad & Mum brought her to see our family doctor at Bukit Batok yesterday as Laopo and I were at work. Luckily I am on off today and tomorrow. Can at least help mum to look after Rui Min lor :)

She was a little cheeky 4 months old baby. Deafening screams and lots of crying for attention. I confessed it's not easy to take care of her. Mum and Laopo have their ways to pacify her lor. Kudo to them.

Yesterday noon, Mum, Laopo and I brought Baby Tricia to Singapore Expo. We went to the Baby Fair and Food Fest at Hall 6A/6B. Big crowds here and there.

Laopo and I had OT today. After work, we had our late dinner at Prata House off Upper Thomson Road. The pratas were crispy and yummy. Prata with egg $1.50, plain prata $0.90 and Teh Tarik $0.90. I will certainly visit the eatery again :)

Finally, I can breathe some fresh air. The past two weeks were terrible. Huge crowds, overtime duties almost everyday and endless long distance driving between home and workplace. They have definitely taken the toll of me. I was like a lifeless zombie leaving home in the dawn at 6am and returning home at 8, 9 and 10pm on the weekdays and Saturdays TOO! What went wrong? Nah, I promise myself that I won't tok about work after work. @_@ I need rejuvenation pills and lots of vitamins too...

After work today, I joined my colleagues for a soccer game at 'The Cage' near our forever never demolished Old Kallang Stadium. It was originally a warehouse which was later converted into playing pitches laid with artificial grass. Booking fee is $90 per hour. 11 of us paid $17 each for 2 hours of game. I tried out my new Adidas soccer boot too which I have bought yesterday. It has been a long time since I last kicked a ball. Enjoyed the game, except for some cuts and bruises. Will go again next time :)

Yesterday brought my parents and Great Aunt to Resorts World Casino. I purchased $400 worth of gaming levy online before dad drove us to Sentosa. Laopo helped to look after Baby Tricia at home while we were away :)

We reached there at about 2pm. The enormous carpark was reported to be the biggest in Singapore that can accomodate up to 3,500 vehicles. That's surely bigger than the carparks at Suntec City and Vivocity. Though there were long queues of people at the entrance waiting for entry, We managed to enter the Casino without any hassle. The usherers helped us to scan our Identity Cards. A $100 gaming levy per pax is good for 24 hours of play in the Casino.

After trying my luck over the Roulette and Bacarrat tables, I managed to accumulate about $3000 + in winnings. We then had wanton mee, bakut teh and char mee for dinner before resumed playing more games. Dad won $1000 +. But my winnings shrinked to $500 + at the end of the day :( Conclusion: Casino gambling win fast as well as lose fast too. Nonetheless, gaining some profit spells a good start for the lunar new year :)

At around 7pm, we called it a day and returned home with our bodies filled with fatigue. Gambling really burns a lot of calories on me. @_@.

Gong Xi Gong Xi! Happy Lunar New Year to everyone. Wishing all good health and good luck all year round. Well, today is the 2nd day of CNY. Tomolo will be another public holiday before returning back to work. So muz enjoy more while accumulating enough sleep hours too. Hee :D

My family had our CNY Countdown at home last Sat as we anticipated super big crowd at Chinatown lorz. Baby Tricia will sure scream at the crowd if she couldn't get what she want. Haha.

On CNY Day 1 yesterday, Laopo and I brought Baby Tricia to visit my in-laws in the morning before driving to my Grandma's place. Children ran about inside the home. Quite a challenge to manage them effectively lorz @_@

Grandma and mum cooked some dishes as lunch to serve my relatives. I like the bee hoon cooked by my mum. And not forgetting the spicy pig intestine soup with my favourite abalones :) We also went to Laopo grandparents' home in the afternoon and ate to our full too.

As CNY Day 1 shared the same date as Valentine Day, I bought some pastries from Gourmet Carousel for Laopo, knowing that she likes sweet stuffs. Bought two heart-shaped Ispahans (macarons stuffed with fresh creams andraspberries) and a box of a dozen macarons of assorted flavours. Plus a bunch of fresh rose. It drew a smile on Laopo's face :D

On CNY Day 2, we went to Grandma's home again for prayers for my grandpa's death anniversary. Baby Tricia woke up early at 7am +++ She seemed to be more eager than us to visit our relatives' homes. Haha.

But before that, a Comfort Cab found itself stuck on the kerb of a curve a stone away from my block in the morning. I managed to take some snapshots. Initially, it couldn't remove its vehicle from the kerb which I guess has probably damaged its car base and flooring. Luckily, fellow cab drivers came to the driver's call for assistance. Teamwork really matters in such a scenerio.

Lunar Chinese New Year is around the corner again. 3 more days to be exact. I have been to POSB and UOB near my workplace over the past few days to exchange for new notes (plus exclusive designed red packets). Couldn't believe I actually joined the aunties and uncles in the long queues during my lunch break @_@ But when I received the new notes and red packets in my hand, it drew a smile on my face.

Last year, I got a piece of new $2 note with some auspicious numbers ending '3888'. So cool. But this time round, i couldn't find any notes with nice numbers lor, except for one with numbers '143143'. Hmm, not bad either. But, tomorrow I shall try my luck again at OCBC. Haha :)

Jurong Pt - Baby Carrier

Went to Jurong Pt with Laopo, Baby Tricia, mum and grandma last Monday. Weekday noon is ideal for shopping as there is usually fewer shoppers :)

We had our late lunch at Din Tai Feng where I had my favourite Xiao Long Bao. We also had yam paste xiao long bao. Though it tasted allright, I still prefer the original flavour with minced meat as key ingredient.

Baby Tricia is now 11 weeks old. We tried her on baby carrier. So far so good. It will take a while for her to get used to it, soon :)

I concur with what PM Lee has said yesterday as covered in the news report.

In response to a question at the Singapore Perspectives Forum on recent reports about ex—government scholars joining the opposition, PM Lee said: "For the opposition, it’s a change — one scholar or two you think "wow" this is a luminous transformation. Well, it is a significant development ... but finally let’s look at the person, not what degrees he has, but what he is able to do for Singapore.

"I can tell you, we interview many scholars and each time we field a few of them. And we interview other people too and we often field people who are not scholars. It is good to see it in perspective.

"We hope that anybody who enters politics is somebody of not just ability but integrity and commitment. These are young people who have got good records academically and been in the civil service.

"We wish them well, but we hope Singaporeans will judge individuals like that as rigorously as they would judge individuals who join the PAP side. In other words, it’s not just what degree you have, but what sort of person are you and what can you do.

"That is a matter you can scrutinise before they come in and the PAP scrutinise very hard before they can come in. But it has to be scrutinised by the voters after they have come in and make a wise choice whom to commit."

Home Team Family Day

After bfast with dad in the morning, I drove Laopo, baby and mum to the Home Team Academy to attend the HT Family Day event. The crowd was relatively small in the morning but gradually built up later on. After some massages and games, we took the shuttle bus to the nearby Lim Chu Kang farms. Really long time never went outing le.. Good! :D

I was home at my void deck after work yesterday evening. Right after parking my car, I saw a mother and her daughter sitting at the void deck. I recognised that they are occupants from my block. They would usually hang around at the void deck to wait for the little gal's father to return from work.

While I was opening my post box to retrieve some mails, the little gal (about 1 yrs ++) rushed towards me and started calling me "Pa Pa"... @_@ I was surprised by her and stunned for a few seconds not knowing how to react. After calming my thoughts, I gave her a bashful smille lor :P Shortly after, the little gal's mother called her from the bench "baby.. come back... not Pa Pa lah" ... I was like thinking - What if her father happens to be present at that moment of time @_@ Oh oh.. 大事不妙 lor..

The little gal then followed me till the lift, still calling me "Pa Pa"... @_@ Before I entered the lift, i waved goodbye to her. She still looked puzzled, perhaps, I looked like her "Pa Pa" bah... Hmm.. I dunno that I have 'two' daughters. Not bad huh? Haha :D

Baby Full Month Celebration

Baby Tricia celebrated her full month yesterday. We held separate sessions in the morning and evening for about 100 ++ relatives, friend and colleagues. Baby Tricia was blessed with lots of Ang Baos, gifts and well wishes. She enjoyed herself a lot :)

Eczema

My parents and Laopo brought Baby Tricia to a Baby Clinic at Ang Mo Kio in the morning. She has these red patches appearing on her skin since last Saturday. The doctor later told that it was Eczema - some rashes that are common on infants and young children. He prescribed a tube of cream for external application.

Could it be due to adult's oily skin etc? I kissed on her cheeks last Friday @_@ Eh... Meanwhile, I have cleaned all laptops, mouses and mobile phones with dettol. Have to keep clean lor.

Time flies... Rui Min is 2 weeks old now :)

We will be holding her full month celebration on 20 Dec (Sun). As Laopo and I have nearly a hundred guests to be invited, we opted for two separate session in the noon and evening. I engaged Casserole Catering Services as they provided Halal buffets. In fact, I have tried their service during my ROM last year. They are dedicated to customer's needs and offers decent decorations too for special occasions. Most importantly, the food is of coz up to my standards lah. Haha.

Yesterday we let Rui Min try out the baby swing. She endorses it immediately and she pee-pee inside it too @_@

Last Tue, I took about 10 minutes to set up a toy set bought by Esther's buddies specially for Tricia. Soon, Tricia found herself indulged in a musical jungle. She seemed so intrigued by the dangling soft-toys @_@

After 4 days of stay at TMC, Baby Tricia is finally home today!

So far, she has been cooperative during feeding (1 bottle milk every 3 hours), except for bathing. Haha :D
